Penciled Daisy

Hi all!  I’ve been enjoying a wonderful summer break by spending my days colouring, reading, designing, and in-between these good times I’ve thrown in some housework, but only because the need arose!  I’d spend all my time at the computer or my craft desk if I could (Oh, and reading!) 🙂

I created a couple of cards a few days ago and amongst it tried to produce a video, but because it’s been sooo long since I’ve done a video, and because now I have a different camera to the one I use to use, it’s taken way longer than I would’ve liked and I’m heading back to work tomorrow so wanted to at least post my cards!

Today I’ve used the set Squared Posies and printed my image on to Fabriano Accademia paper.  This set was designed by me and originally produced as a clear stamp set which is now discontinued, but I’ve transformed the set to digital.

I used a background stamp on the textured white card stock and stamped in Antique Linen.  In both cards the sentiment is stamped in Walnut Stain and the two panels made from the same textured card stock using the stamp pads to colour them.

To this second card I added some 3mm Cocoa Sprinkles (still to be added to the shop!), and some natural twine.

Prismacolor Pencils are always wonderful to work with so I had a blast!  To blend I used paper stumps and Zest-It!

Have a great week everyone!

Holiday Creating

card2-2-110116What fun to have some time to craft with the school holidays here and Christmas over once again for another year!  I’m constantly amazed at people who can simply fit it ALL in!  Craft, work, family, craft!  I seem to run out of time, but then I also include my books – can’t go a day without reading 🙂

Today I thought I’d share one of the images I’ve coloured recently as well as a quick CAS card for a challenge.  My first card had me pulling out my Prismacolor pencils which have been gathering dust for at least a year, but are well and truly on my revival list.

I bought this gorgeous image from Mo’s Digital Pencil just the other day called Airborne and printed it on to a pencil friendly card stock and included a sentiment to save me adding it later (I can rarely get it straight if I stamp it after the fact).

card2-3-110116

My colouring is a little rusty, but I have to admit I had a fabulous time practising! I used Zest-It to blend, and because I used so many colours I put them away and so don’t have a list this time round.  The balloon colours were for the colour challenge on Splitcoast CC563.

Next is a very quick card for the CASology challenge – Simple!  I used stamps from my Scribble Scrabble Circle set and Distress Inks, but printed my sentiment to suit the challenge but also to give to my husband, either for Valentines or wedding anniversary.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope your New Year was fabulous!

More Balloons

I think male cards are hard, and I think male cards for your son turning 23 even harder!  What do you create, or what sort of card do you even buy for that matter?!?  So I went with something easy, and I went with something I’d already created..a balloon, and times it by three!

card-2-091015

I have already used this balloon on this post HERE, and another before, but this time I made it smaller and added a simple sentiment before printing.  I’ve once again used Inktense pencils, partly because they were still out from last week, but mostly because I love using them.  I did a quick cover over the background with the colour Chinese Ink, then coloured the balloons.

So what do you think…masculine enough?…old enough??  Oh well it’s too late now, the box is wrapped and the card attached!  I’ll add this balloon as a freebie soon for you to use, I just have a birthday to celebrate this weekend first!

Thanks for visiting!

Andrea

Another Birthday

Another day, another wintery arctic blast, or so we’ve been told to expect!  Whatever the weather outside it’s perfect for a Saturday afternoon of card making!!

Nathan has a party to go to this afternoon so I’ve used the same balloon from my last card and made this one…

card1-110715

It’s very bright and bold, but I’m hoping perfect for an 11 year old boy 🙂  I’ve coloured it with Inktense pencils then matted on to black card then a textured white card stock.

I had another card that I printed out ages ago to colour so I finished this one off as well..

card2-110715

I’ve printed this image on smooth white card stock then coloured with Copic markers, adding a few highlights with pencils.  These images are from a digi set I’ll be releasing as soon as the new store is open..which isn’t far away now.

Have a wonderful afternoon whatever you may be doing!

Andrea

Birthday Balloon

Hi all, I hope it’s warmer where you are than it is here!  We’ve had a week of frosts and fog until lunchtime and then not much sunshine from there…not nice at all, but it is wintertime!  It’s also school holidays here in Victoria and a great time to catch up on all those jobs that seem to get pushed to the side, but not a lot of that is happening here!

Today I had my Inktense pencils out once again because I just love how easy they are to work with, and I’ve coloured an image I created a couple of weeks ago to make a birthday card for a friend.

Using the pencils I coloured directly on to the watercolour paper then used my brush and water to spread the colour and shade.  I only used two colours and even those these pencils are beautifully bright and vibrant they can also be subtle if you draw the colour out and away from your image.

It’s time now to do a tidy up in my office and to get back to work (housework)!  Have a great day wherever you are 🙂

Inktense Digi

My long weekend proved very fruitful with the opportunity to play with my Inktense pencils once again….oh how I’ve missed them…and to see how a new set of dig’s I’ve created would turn out!

cs1-090315

I chose two images from the set and resized them to fill a 10cm x 10cm square which then went on a final card size of 14.5cm x 14.5cm.

I matted my final image on a panel of black to make the gorgeous Inktense colours pop.

cs2-090315

The colours I’ve used to create the scene are: Amber, Leaf Green, Nuetral Grey, Mallard Green, Sea Blue, Thistle, Deep Violet, Fuchsia.

Before printing out my image I was going to add a font script but decided on a simple freehand sentiment in it’s place 🙂

I hope your week is going well!

Smiles,

Andrea

Copic Background

Hi, I hope if you’re having a long weekend like we are in Victoria, the weather is as gorgeous as it is here!  It is perfect Autumn weather, even though it’s hard to believe we are now in March and moving toward Easter.

I coloured this image weeks and weeks ago using Copics and created a background, which is something I never really do with Copics, but was inspired by a very talented lady called Sandy Allnock!

cs4-090315

I’m hoping it looks as though she’s standing on a wooden floor with a wallpaper as a backdrop…well that was the intention!  I kept it light and added some shading with pastels after.

This sweet image is from Tiddly Inks, one of a few I now have to play with!

Enjoy a wonderful week ahead 🙂

Smiles,

Andrea

Monster Birthday

I’ve had a beautiful Sunday so far and hope you’ve been able to enjoy it as well.  Our day started with church together, a quite lunch and a lazy afternoon with coffee outside on the front verandah in the Spring sunshine.

Today I’ve finished a card I started yesterday using Inktense pencils for my colouring medium.  The image was stamped on to 100% cotton watercolour paper 11cm x 11cm with Versafine ink.

card_140914

I used a couple of different methods to add the colour.  Parts I coloured directly with the pencil and others I picked the colour up with my wet brush and then applied.  The background is simply a wash of the green pencil – Ionian Green.

card2_140914

Below are the three colours I used for the main image which I hope come close to the challenge colours.  My base card is a digital sheet pattern in the colour Ice and measures 14cm x 14cm folded.

card3_140914

Here are the challenges and links I played along with!  I was a little late for sketch challenge at Retro Sketches (ooops!) but I made it in time for the Color Throwdown challenge!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and last week before school holidays begin!
